As u installed xp again u have reset the windows partion to active while the boot loader is on some other partition.... or may be u didnt but still u can try and folow the steps and see if it helps...unless u have deleted the linux partition...
so .... we need to ...
Boot into windows...
Install Partition magic... run it..
Then select the partition which has linux on it...
right click on it and set that partition as active...
Then it will ask to restart .... do so...
Then if ur computers biits up linus the boot lader is installed and is working....
Else u need to reinstall it....
once done... u cannot boot back into windows because that partition is not active..
so to do it ..... follow this....
1.
Boot from windows xp cd and got recovery console....
2.
Type:
diskpart
3.
At the DISKPART prompt, type:
list partition
Make note of the number of the partition that you want to mark as active.
4.
At the DISKPART prompt, type:
select partition n
Select the partition, n, you want to mark as active.
5.
At the DISKPART prompt, type:
active
restart... u r done... _________________ Megamachine
